"are there hidden gems out there not on a label? " Turner Classics / Rhino Movie Music put out a 2 CD version a while back that has a second disc of outtakes. That disc is an hour long and consists of four tracks of Garcia playing solo electric - improvisations running from folk song simplicity to feedback and hints at Dark Star. The rest of the disc is a mixed bag of four tracks from Pink Floyd - the acoustic/electric 'Unknown Song' and the 'piano down the hall sound' of 'Love Scene - version 4' are welcome additions to my Pink Floyd preferences. The 'Love Scene - version 6' is a straight ahead electric blues tune. There are likely more outtakes out there, but if you have a rip of only the original lp length soundtrack, you might want to check out this 2 CD edition.
